Women in the workplace: Meet a few of the empowering women of dockshare
Dockshare is committed to fostering a workplace that uplifts and empowers individuals of all genders, sexualities, and races. In that spirit, we’re proud to spotlight a few of the incredible women leaders whose talent, dedication, and vision have been instrumental in shaping and growing our company.

Gina Young, co-founder of Dockshare, strongly believes in the power of teamwork and shared leadership. When reflecting on her role in business, Gina emphasizes the importance of trusting in a team that collaborates to drive progress and achieve success. She believes that a leader’s greatest strength lies in building a team of experts and empowering them to thrive. Gina and her husband, Nate, launched Dockshare with a simple but powerful idea—a real solution to a real problem. That idea has since evolved into a growing company that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Even when facing the unknown, Gina has been instrumental in creating a space where women can come together, harness their strengths, and build something meaningful.
Working alongside Gina to elevate Dockshare’s brand visibility, Natalie Van Buskirk and Nicole Halsey bring their expertise in public relations and marketing to the forefront. With a strong foundation in effective communication, in-depth research, and strategic planning, they’ve led Dockshare through a wide range of initiatives—including market research, media outreach, social media strategy, guerrilla marketing, and email campaigns. As co-owners of their own agency, Polished Nichols, Natalie and Nicole not only contribute to Dockshare’s growth but also share a passion for mentoring and empowering other women within the company and beyond.
“We are empowered by other intelligent, kind, dedicated, and trustworthy women in a workplace environment. Empowered women empower women.”

These women exemplify how success is achieved through hard work, perseverance, and purpose. Yet, a recent study shows that 29% of women still believe their gender may hinder their advancement. One powerful way to challenge that perception is through mentorship and empowerment. At Dockshare, Gina, Natalie, Nicole, and other women leaders are doing just that—consistently guiding and supporting student interns, helping to shape the next generation of innovators and leaders.
Demcy Grill and Tori Ochoa, both college interns from the University of Maryland, describe their time at Dockshare as a gateway to real-world experience and hands-on learning in the business world. Beyond that, they’ve had the unique opportunity to learn from and be inspired by exceptional women thriving in leadership roles.
Tori shares about her experience:
“Dockshare’s student internship is the first professional level job I’ve ever secured so I had, and still have, a lot to learn. It has been incredibly helpful to have a group of inspiring women guiding me along this journey. They are all incredibly strong and driven in their roles as leaders, and have swept me under their wings to work towards the same goals for Dockshare.”
Womenleaders often make exceptional mentors, offering guidance, insight, and life-changing advice that can shape the trajectory of a young professional’s career. The next generation is looking for role models—individuals who lead with empathy, strength, and experience. At Dockshare, the women in leadership not only excel in their professional roles, but also embrace the responsibility of mentorship, empowering emerging talent with the tools and confidence to succeed.
Dockshare is an organization that values work-life balance and celebrates the multifaceted roles that women play every day. Its female leaders juggle careers, family responsibilities, extracurricular commitments, and often take the lead in parenting—bringing a wealth of experience and adaptability to the workplace. These real-life challenges help shape their approach to problem-solving and leadership. At Dockshare, the supportive environment empowers women to lead with confidence, navigate challenges with resilience, and inspire those around them.
